Join Martin Anderson for an inspiring lunchtime talk as he shares the highs, lows, and unforgettable moments of completing his first ultramarathon at 50.
From hill training and sleepless nights to staying fuelled and avoiding ‘the bonk’, Martin offers a relatable glimpse into what it takes to tackle the ultra-distance challenge. Discover the mindset that keeps ultra runners moving, the difference between pain and injury, and the unexpected joy found in simple things like cheese sandwiches and dry socks.
Whether you’re dreaming of your first 5k or curious about pushing beyond a marathon, this is your chance to get inspired by what perseverance and preparation can achieve.
Your speaker is Martin Anderson
Martin Anderson is a communications consultant, coach and endurance runner who turned a personal health journey into a passion for long-distance running.
In 2019, aged 48, Martin set out to improve his health and fitness. Since then, he has lost 30kg and completed more than a dozen ultramarathons, running distances from 50km to over 100 miles.
Drawing on lived experience and countless miles on the road, Martin shares what he’s learned about resilience, mindset, and staying motivated through life-changing physical challenges.
